About Immanuel

Some churches are known as "come and see" churches where the goal is to inspire and motivate. Other churches are known as "go and be" churches where the people are challenged to go make a difference in their world. While both are good, given the culture of southeastern Oklahoma we believe the gospel is best advanced if we are both a “come and see” church AND a “go and be” church. We want you to be drawn to "come and see" what God is doing within our walls, but we also want you to be challenged to "go and be" a missionary for Jesus outside our walls. Here are the three major building blocks that comprise who we are. We invite you to come be a part of us each Sunday with two services to choose from: 9:00 AM or 10:40 AM!

Immanuel’s Vision

Our vision and driving force is to make Jesus famous in Poteau and the surrounding region. Our vision is much bigger than a new building or larger crowds. Our vision is for people’s lives to be transformed because they see for themselves how incredible Jesus is. We’re to put His greatness on display. 

Immanuel’s Mission

Our mission is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus. That’s it. The Bible calls this making disciples, or lifelong learners and followers. In order for Jesus to be made famous, people must orient their lives around following Him.

Immanuel’s Strategy

Our strategy to fulfill our mission and see our vision become reality is summarized in three words: Come, Grow, Go. That strategy basically means we Come… encounter God through our Worship Service. We Grow… experience life together through a Community Group. And we Go… engage our world through Missional Living. Our strategy is basically to build relationships in three key areas – God, the church, and the world – in order to make Jesus famous throughout our region.
