What do we mean “Go-Engage Your World”?
At Immanuel our goal is to equip believers to move from being a member to a missionary. God has placed each of us in this unique time and place for His purpose. That means that our daily lives, our coming in and going out, everyday lives should be lived to make Jesus famous. We do this not out of a sense of obligation or duty, but out of love for our Savior and because He is worthy to be made known to our world. We desire others to know our God who has extended His grace, mercy, forgiveness and love to us.
What does this mean for me?
We will encourage you to move from being a seeker or student to being a sower in your world—one who dispenses God’s grace to a broken and dying world, thereby resulting in healing for others and glory to our God. This happens in unique and multiple ways, but the two primary vehicles include:
- Missional Living (Living our lives on mission for God) - This means that we choose to daily live in such a way as to impact our world for Christ by being purposeful in investing in the lives of those around us. If we are a teacher, we portray Christ to our students; if we are a plumber, we portray Christ to our customers; if we are a nurse, we portray Christ to our patients. Specifically, this means building relationships with those in our sphere of influence and inviting them to a personal relationship with Christ.
- Participating in mission and service opportunities – Immanuel provides opportunities and supports missions both locally and abroad. In addition, we are working to establish strategic relationships with other churches, ministries, businesses, and civic organizations in order to share the gospel and to make Jesus famous in our world.
We believe that in providing opportunities for all to Encounter God through our Come worship service, and to Grow together in our Community Groups, that our members are equipped to Go Engage their World for Christ!
